Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Sauce

Instructions:

  1. Combine Base Ingredients:
    • In a medium saucepan, combine the ketchup, dark brown sugar, molasses, pineapple juice, and apple cider vinegar. Stir well to mix.
  2. Add Seasonings:
    • Add the Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, ground black pepper, cayenne pepper (if using), and salt. Stir the mixture until all the ingredients are well combined.
  3. Simmer the Sauce:
    • Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
  4. Cook Until Thickened:
    • Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer gently for about 20 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent sticking. The sauce will thicken as it cooks.
  5. Cool and Store:
    • Once the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly.
    • Pour the sauce into a jar or airtight container and refrigerate. The sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
