Merry Christmas Jam

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Fruit: In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, strawberries, and diced apple. Add the orange zest, juice, and water.
  2. Cook the Jam: Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Add sugar, cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg. Let the fruit break down and the sugar dissolve, cooking for 20-25 minutes, until thickened. Stir frequently to prevent burning.
  3. Blend for Smoothness (Optional): If you prefer a smoother jam, use an immersion blender to puree the mixture to your desired consistency.
  4. Jar the Jam: Transfer the jam to sterilized jars, leaving about 1/4 inch of space at the top. Wipe the rims clean and seal tightly with lids.
  5. Store: Let the jam cool at room temperature, then store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks or process in a water bath for long-term storage.
