Killer Spicy Garlic Dill Pickles

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Brine:
    • In a large saucepan, combine water, white vinegar, pickling salt, and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally until the salt and sugar dissolve completely.
    • Reduce the heat to low and let the brine simmer for about 5 minutes to infuse the flavors.
  2. Pack the Jars:
    • Meanwhile, pack the quartered pickling cucumbers, garlic cloves, black peppercorns, red pepper flakes, fresh dill sprigs, and mustard seeds into clean, sterilized jars.
  3. Add the Brine:
    • Carefully pour the hot brine over the cucumbers in the jars, ensuring they are fully submerged. Leave about 1/2 inch of headspace at the top of each jar.
  4. Seal and Cool:
    • Close the jars with lids and let them cool to room temperature.
  5. Refrigerate:
    • Once cooled, refrigerate the spicy garlic dill pickles for at least 24 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Enjoy:
    • Enjoy these killer spicy garlic dill pickles as a zesty and crunchy snack, or serve them alongside sandwiches, burgers, or salads!
