Homemade Bubble Gum

Instructions:

  1. Melt Gum Base:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the gum base in 30-second intervals until melted, stirring in between to ensure even melting.
  2. Mix Corn Syrup:
    • Add the corn syrup to the melted gum base and mix thoroughly until well combined.
  3. Add Color and Flavor:
    • If using food coloring and flavoring oil, add them now. Stir until the color and flavor are evenly distributed throughout the gum base mixture.
  4. Knead Sugar In:
    • Sprinkle a clean surface with powdered sugar. Pour the gum mixture onto the surface and knead the powdered sugar into the gum base. Continue to add powdered sugar and knead until the gum no longer sticks to your hands.
  5. Shape the Gum:
    • Roll the gum into small balls or strips, as desired. For a sour kick, sprinkle a little citric acid on the gum before shaping.
  6. Let It Rest:
    • Allow the gum to rest for about 30 minutes to firm up and achieve the right chewing consistency.
