For the Cake:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Mix the Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, eggs, baking soda, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix until well combined.
- Add the undrained crushed pineapple (including the juice) to the mixture and stir until fully incorporated. If desired, fold in the chopped nuts.
- Bake the Cake:
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
