Country Gravy Mix

Instructions:

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, combine the dry milk powder, all-purpose flour, chicken bouillon granules, ground black pepper, salt, onion powder, and garlic powder. Stir until well mixed.
  2. Store the Mix:
    • Store the country gravy mix in an airtight container or a jar with a tight-fitting lid. Keep it in a cool, dry place for up to 3 months.

Making Country Gravy from the Mix

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup country gravy mix
  • 2 cups water

Instructions:

  1. Whisk Together Mix and Water:
    • In a medium saucepan, whisk together 1/2 cup of the country gravy mix and 2 cups of water until smooth.
  2. Cook the Gravy:
    • Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
  3. Thicken the Gravy:
    • Once the gravy starts to boil, reduce the heat to low and continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the gravy has thickened to your desired consistency (about 3-5 minutes).
  4. Serve:
    • Remove from heat and serve the country gravy over biscuits, mashed potatoes, chicken-fried steak, or any other dish of your choice.
