
Directions:
- Combine Dry Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, mix together 3/4 cup flour, sugar, undissolved yeast, and salt.
- Prepare the Wet Ingredients:
- In a small saucepan, heat the milk, water, and 2 tablespoons of butter until very warm (120°F to 130°F). The mixture should be warm to the touch but not scalding.
- Mix the Dough:
- Add the warm milk mixture to the flour mixture. Using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat for 2 minutes, scraping the bowl occasionally.
- Add an additional 1/4 cup of flour and beat on high speed for 2 minutes.
- Form the Dough:
- Gradually stir in enough of the remaining flour to make a soft dough that pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
- Knead the Dough:
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 8 to 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough with a clean cloth and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Shape the Rolls:
- After resting, divide the dough into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball.
- Place the dough balls into a greased 8-inch round pan.
- Let the Dough Rise:
- Cover the pan with a clean cloth and let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free place until doubled in size, about 30 minutes.
- Bake the Rolls:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Once the rolls have risen, bake them in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.
- Serve:
- Serve the dinner rolls warm, straight from the oven. They’re perfect on their own, with butter, or as a side to your favorite dish.
